So October is spooky month, I love autumn so much, it is my favourite season, its cardigan weather and you rarely need a coat, I can start wearing my boots again and most importantly I can drink hundreds of pumpkin spiced lattes. So the books I'm planning to read are spooky, cosy books and a thriller, and I also want to continue some of the series I started earlier in the year, which I'll call continuathon.

The Silent Patient
I've had this for a while now, I got it on kindle for 99p in June I think, I've heard mixed reviews on this one, but a thriller is always perfect for Halloween season.
City of Ghosts
This is the October book pick for the A Touch of Whimsy book club, about a little girl who's parents are ghost hunters on a TV show, but she can actually see ghosts, Alexandra Roselyn always recommends this around this time of year, so it makes sense that its been picked for her book club for October.

Vicious
It may not be spooky or creepy, but a book about villains becoming villains and enemies is something that sounds very fitting for Halloween. Told between two time lines which is one a my favourite story telling techniques. This will be my second book by Schwab (see previous book for my first) however I am so convinced I will like her writing that I actually own nearly everything shes written and the remaining books are available on scrib'd. I have so many series on the go at the moment but I will finish/ be caught up with enough by the end of this month I am happy to add it to the TBR as its the Schwab series I am most interested in.
Starsight
The next instalment in Brandon Sanderson's YA sci-fi series, I adored Skyward when I read it in July and immediately preordered the paperback edition which again comes out on 15th Oct (I have the paperback of Skyward and they need to match) I haven't heard as much about the Starsight but I really can't wait to see what happens next. I thought this series was only going to be a duology, and I've heard nothing about further books but I was compiling a list of all the series I am interested in and the books in those series I found that this is actually a 4 book series! How on earth does Brandon Sanderson write so many books all the time! And they are never short, his mind boggles me.

Potkin and Stubbs: Ghostcatcher
This is the final book in this trilogy and having just finished the second book I am only putting off picking it up so I can read it in October. This series is perfect for October, such a creepy, noir vibe and Lil is such a funny little girl, this series is definitely a favourite of mine, I can't wait to see how it ends.
Hollowpox
The next instalment in the Morrigan Crow Nevermoor series is released in the UK on 15th October, and I can not wait! I have pre-ordered the UK version and have also bought the Owlcrate Jr special box. I haven't loved a series or been excited for a release so much since Harry Potter. I love Morrigan and Jupiter and really look forward to seeing their next adventure.

Assassin's Quest
I have recently acquired Robin Hobb's first 9 books in the realm of the elderlings universe (all second hand might I add), and I am currently 20% in to the second book and with all the remaining books being over 600 pages I've got a long way to go. I so far am really enjoying the Farseer trilogy, I like that we are hearing everything from Fitz first hand, and following him from such a young age. He is not having the luckiest of lives and from what I've heard the rest of the series continues in the same vein but I'm sticking with Fitz for the long haul now. So once I have finished Royal Assassin I will pick up Assassin's Quest. This plays into my continuathon this month.
Orange Vol 2
I always like to put a couple of graphic novels and manga on my TBR as a quick read. I read the first volume in September and as I'm planning to use October as a series catch up month I want to get to this while the details of volume 1 are still fresh. I am concerned I will cry at the ending though.
Deathnote Vol 2 (black edition)
Put simply, Ryuk is the scariest illustration I've ever seen, he freaks me right out! I wasn't totally convinced by this series when I read the first volume and wasn't sure I wanted to carry on the series but I've not been able to stop thinking about it since I read it in the beginning of July. Again as continuathon is to continue with my many series its time to read the next volume.

Horrorstor
I won't lie, the main attraction of this book was the fact it looks like an Ikea catalogue. I have heard a lot about Grady Hendrix's books, particularly My Best Friend's Exorcism which is also on my list. I know you shouldn't judge a book by its cover but his books all look so fun and so interesting that I can't help but be intrigued. Described as haunted house story in a contemporary setting on goodreads, I really hope this has the substance as well as the looks.
A Heart so Fierce and Broken
I read A Curse so Dark and Lonely in February/March and I have wanted to pick this up ever since, but I read it on Scrib'd and have been waiting patiently to see if Fierce and Broken was added but it hasn't yet and its gotten to the point where if I leave it any longer I will need to read Dark and Lonely again. So I bit the bullet and bought both although at £12.99 for both I'm not complaining even if my shelf space is. So in the spirit of my own continuathon in October this is the last book I'm adding to my TBR for this month.

I have also pre-ordered Frostheart 2: Escape from Aurora and This Winter which are being released on 1st and 15th October respectively and very hopeful I can get to them but they are not firmly on my TBR and I also have a few books still on my September TBR to read so we shall see how I do.
